Las Cruses,/Deming, New Mexico

Thursday afternoon, April 22nd

We visited the White Sands National Monument which covers 60,000 acres of white gypsum dunes.  The tallest  is over 60 feet in height.  What a sand pile!

We rolled into  the "Little Vineyard RV Park" in Deming, NM at 4:30 PM.  The wind was really blowing and it was in the lower 40's.  We ate supper at the "Si Senor Restaurant" and went to Wal-mart to pick up supplies.  Anxious to get back to the RV, we became quite troubled when we realized that we had both left our set of keys locked up in the RV.  We thought we were going to freeze while trying to figure out what we were going to do.  Finally Rob remembered that he had a hidden key and once he was able to get his hands on it, we quickly unloaded our groceries and turned up the heat.  I asked the lady in the office if it was always this windy here and she responded, "only in the Spring".    We will be staying here two nights.
